“I got to represent my country! That’s a huge thing for me.”

Hi Zofia, can you please introduce yourself and tell us why you decided to participate in the 2018 Miss Scuba International?

1. My name is Zofia Majka from Brisbane Australia. I was 23 when I decided to participate in Miss Scuba International as it called to my inner passion for conservation and education. I realized it was the perfect way to get people's attention and convey the message of marine conservation. It was also an incredible opportunity to travel to beautiful waters and meet other like-minded women in the industry.

How did it impact or change your life?

2. It showed me that there are more people out there than I ever could have hoped, fighting for our oceans. Being completely honest, after my degree, I felt extremely disheartened by all the bad news about our reefs and the degrading state of our marine ecosystems. So, meeting so many strong, driven, amazingly intelligent women from across the entire world was touching and motivating.

What has the experience done for your brand?

3. I got to represent my country! That’s a huge thing for me. I’ve never done that before, and to represent my country for such an amazing cause was an incredible honor. As for my modeling specifically, it was significant. I learned so much more about modeling, style, posing, and how I carried myself. My experiences continue to influence all the modeling I’ve done since. I also made the most amazing connections all over the world with so many different people in different industries. You never know where those connections can take you in the future.
